Today i had a really productive day at work. finally. i feel like i've been spinning my wheels. i want to do better at work. really shine. i feel like i'm finally starting to be a productive member of the team. :) for lunch i had a BLT sandwich on foccacia bread and some soup. not turkey. not mashed taters. no cranberries. no pecan pie. bummer.
actually, i hardly noticed i was missing thanksgiving. i called my mom at about midnight (my time). she was at my cousin's house. i called my brothers too by straight to voicemail of course! other than the calls i'm not too upset about not being home. i really like thanksgiving, one of my top 3 favorite holidays for sure, but i'd much rather be on this journey then back home. there's always tradeoffs and thats ok with me.
after work i went to the shopping center to get a few things. they are only open late on thursdays so i had to take advantage!! i got a bunch of kid's books to help me learn dutch. sticker books and puzzle books hahah. flashcards with funny pictures. whatever it takes - i really want to get better at dutch.
when i got home i ate some leftovers and jumped in the shower. i had plans to meet elisabet and all her friends at the bar for thier weekly thursday night meetup. i went over the elevator guy's room armed with a package of holiday cookies. he answered the door! he's just as i remember. tall, strong jaw, SO dutch. i asked him if he (Rik) wanted to come with me to Bebar, where elisabet and her friends were meeting. about a 5 minute bike ride from our place. he agreed :) we left about 1o mins later and went over to bebar. i had a great time with Rik and some of elisabet's other friends. i met some other cool guys who invited me to a huge Delft party this saturday. it sounds like a ton of fun. one was tall with dark curly hair and shamefully adorable. jasper. he gave me his info. i'll go with him on saturday to he party. Rik is going also so i think we will all go together. rik and i rode back home together. overall a great thanksgiving :) wish i could write more. soooo tired.
